NOTE FROM JOE:

I always like to create little adventures. I think stories help keep humans going and at the end of day, activity is part of my story.

In 2023 I randomly got hit up to go run a marathon in Kenya and the concept for “Run Joe Run” was born. I had no plans to race like I did in 2023 but since Kenya was such an amazing trip that we happen to document, I decided to lean into it with friends and document the whole 2023 running / racing season.

This is that story, mixed with lessons, recaps, and reflections. This was all, no lie, done on the fly. The episodes won’t be released chronologically, just more so in the time all the information comes together. It is currently October, and since this is the month that the Chicago marathon takes place, we decided to let recap of Chicago Marathon 2023 be the first we provide.

“JORDAN CHAINS” | CHICAGO MARATHON 2023

A look back at the Chicago Marathon through the lens of Jessica Foley who documented the weekend. During the lead up I kept a bit of a diary. This is a mix of both those thoughts in the immediate moment while giving it additional context with present day reflections. Marathon race weekends are always a bit intense. The travel. Mental prep. Self doubt. I also had to work while I was there, leading + taking part in a few events on behalf of Westin and Hyperice.
